However, healthy foods like lime extract, dates and peanuts just won’t make a good candy bar. This is not going to happen Dates and limes just won’t make a very good candy bar.

However, when you come to this realization it can be very liberating. You will actually be enjoying food in a new way. You can stop trying to make those cardboard tasting brownies and focus your mind on creating dishes that are actually good.

The following are tips on how to make your own healthy recipes that will leave you completely satisfied:

Its best to stay in season
Seasonal foods are the best and really a treat. Making sure you always treat them like that. Seasonal fruits can always be engineered into delicious main courses or dessert parfaits. Fresh peaches are wonderful in the summer and in the winter try sweet mandarin oranges. Berries are a great way to greet spring, and crisp apples are ideal for fall. You can still enjoy these fruits the rest of the year, but if you eat them when they are at they best, they can be quite the treat.

Draw attention to the positive
When eating healthy, stay away from all really heavily processed foods. Pre-packaged items are usually very bad for you. Instead of bemoaning the loss of your “little debbies” or packaged cookies, instead focus on how delicious your homemade treats are. Then you can be so proud of yourself not only for eating right, but for also creating those healthy living recipes that are so delicious.

Focus on family
When you first read this, it may not sound like much of a recipe. However, when the dinner time turns into time spent together as family, everything just tastes better. Your meal can become a time of self-reflection if your schedules don’t allow for regular family dining. You can have a cup of green tea and a nice quite dinner. Just eat slowly, while taking time to think about your day. You will find that this makes meals a relief even when you are not eating the high-fat foods you may initially crave.

So healthy living is about more than the food. Its a way of living. Meals that are truly effective healthy living recipes will factor in all aspects of your meal, not just sugar and preservatives contained within.
